Gennady Rusakov was born in 1938 in the village of Novo-Golskoye in the Voronezh region. He was raised in the Suvorov Military School, studied at the Literary Institute, graduated from the 1st Moscow Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages ​​(1966). He worked as a simultaneous interpreter at the UN Secretariat in New York, at the Committee for European Security in Moscow, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR, and at the UN Secretariat in Geneva. He is the author of twelve books, translated poets from Italy, France, Belgium, and published a book "Sonnets of Shakespeare's Contemporaries." His works were published in the "Literary Newspaper," in the magazines "Znamya," "Arion," "Friendship of Peoples," "New World." He is the laureate of the Znamya magazine award (1996), the minor Apollo Grigoryev award (1999), the "Wreath" award (2011), and the national "Poet" award (2014).
The poet's new book includes poems from recent years.
