A brief overview of the history of aesthetics is given a brief overview of the history of aesthetics, the presentation of the aesthetic theory, the main ideas and problems of classical aesthetics expressed in its main categories. An attempt is made to make a classification of aesthetic concepts, highlight the latest aesthetic concepts represented by postmodernism and integral aesthetics. During the historical development, aesthetics has developed many categories. They were born at different times and in different contexts, therefore, there was a problem of a certain classification of these concepts, their internal correlation, conceptual coupling. The following principle is elected to the manual: at the beginning we are talking about such categories that make up the initial aesthetics frame as disciplines. Then, the author, conducting the idea of the integrity (hollority) of art, grows the material (and, accordingly, different concepts) around the historically established ideas that art can be expressed in the author, in the work and in the viewer (reader) According to these three counterpoints and posted the main categories of modern aesthetics.
