This edition is first present in Russian full translation of the famous novel Jean-Batista Luva de Coup (1760-1797) "Love adventures of Chevalé de Foblas" (1787-1790), which left a significant track in both world and Russian classical literature.
This is the best work of Luva de Cup, which has enlightened the spirit of literature of the XVIII century and anticipating the appearance of ideals and values characteristic of the XIX century, the author gives tribute to the aristocratic galant culture in both of its hypostatas: sublime and library. The novel is marked by bright theatricality: the action is developing rapidly, as in the classical comedy, and the rapid change of paintings was bloated by witty chatter or experiences of the hero trying to justify their impermanence. Substrake, deceived husband, Doctor-Charlatan, a faithful servant, a friend, a wise father, the villain pass in front of the reader in the vortex of excommunicate feelings, random meetings, dressing, enemy goats, separation and gains.
Thanks to the influence of J.-Zh. Rousseau Hero Luva de Cup, who pliz on his predecessors, occupies a special place in the literature: this is a sentimental seducer, non-permeable in feelings and reckless in actions, but endowed with a kind heart and capable of sincere repentance.
Another story, which sharply contrasts with the secular space of "Foblas", offering the reader of highly moral, ascetic characters, republican ideals, fanatical patriotism, sublime faithful love, to family values, is skilled. In the history of the Lomophistician, the virtuous daughter of the Polish Patriot, there are no game elements - she takes on the scene of the martyrs of freedom and victims of strong passions. Thanks to her, the frivolny novel is filled with seriousness and tragedy, and a cheerful game turns away with death and madness. However, despite this, the "Foblas" remains primarily a sample of French wit and sociability, joy and charms of carefree life, fireworks of love adventures and glorifying the fleeting gift of youth.
A story about the life of a writer, placed in this edition, clearly demonstrates how not far literature left the lives in which all the same strong feelings and fatal circumstances took place
