Mark Twain (real name - Samuel Langhorn Clemens, 1835-1910) - is rightfully considered one of the founders of American literature. William Folkner wrote that Mark Twain was the “first truly American writer, and we are all the heirs since then, and according to Ernest Hemingway, all modern American literature has emerged from one book by Mark Twain, which is called the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn ".
The book is illustrated by the famous artist Mikhail Petrov.
