The information about asynchronous electric drive, including structural features, physical processes in an asynchronous engine, its mechanical and electromechanical characteristics in various modes of operation are set out. The overall characteristics of the methods for regulating asynchronous electric drive are given. Considerable attention is paid to the laws of frequency regulation and dynamic characteristics in frequency regulation modes. The features of the mathematical description of an asynchronous motor based on the theory of the generalized electrical machine and the methods of its modeling, taking into account the requirements of the vector control, are noted. The manual found their reflection of promising directions in the development of asynchronous electric drive, in particular, direct control torque, adaptive management and control systems based on fuzzy logic. All sections of the presentation of the theoretical material are fully supported by the examples.
