The book presents approaches to managing pediatric patients with inflammatory diseases of various parts of the throat (adenoiditis, tonsillopharyngitis, pharyngolaryngitis), including against the background of infectious diseases, gastrointestinal pathology, and a number of other conditions. The material is based on current clinical recommendations (national and international) and is intended for outpatient physicians - pediatricians, otolaryngologists, general practitioners (family doctors). Despite the different functional competencies of these specialists, some techniques (mesopharyngoscopy) are accessible to all clinicians universally, while others (endoscopy of ENT organs) are the prerogative of otolaryngologists and are only possible with the availability of specialized equipment at the physician's workplace. The features of the rhino-/pharyngo-/laryngoscopic picture are crucial for making the correct diagnosis and choosing a rational treatment strategy.
The relationship between throat pathology and gastrointestinal tract is an important and extensive topic, with data on the nature and frequency of ENT pathology in patients with organic and functional pathology provided in a special chapter. Separate descriptions are given of the condition of ENT organs and the management strategy for patients with congenital cleft lip and palate anomaly. The principles of patient therapy (including interdisciplinary) are presented in an age-specific aspect, which is particularly relevant in pediatric practice.
