On the arena since 1879. From 1883, he worked at the Winkler circus-zoo in Moscow, and then at the Bezano circus. He began his artistic career as a strongman, sound imitator, illusionist, momentalist artist, singer, and clown. In the zoo, Durov started performing as an animal trainer. From 1887, he worked at the Salamonsky circus in Moscow as a clown-trainer and satirist. He built animal training on the development of conditioned reflexes through encouragement: the animal received food for performing a trick. In his house in Moscow, he conducted psychological experiments on animals, including telepathy, psychology, parapsychology, etc. He involved V.M. Bekhterev and I.P. Pavlov in his work. In order to earn money in 1912, he opened a theater of the living corner in his house, which later became known as "Durov's Corner". In 2023, we published Durov's books: Animal Training: Psychological Observations of Animals Trained by My Method, Grandfather Durov's Animals. Notes of Durov's Pig, About the strong worlds of that, Feathered Artists: (Trained Birds of Grandfather Durov), Scientific Training of Commercial-Hunting Dogs. All books have illustrations.
