The outstanding religious philosopher, one of the founders of Slavophilism Ivan Vasilyevich Kireevsky develops the problem of the national originality of Russian culture, comparing it with the culture of "enlightened Europe" that has departed from religious principles and lost its spiritual integrity. The article is written in the form of an open letter to Count E.E. Komarovskiy and was first published in the Slavophile "Moscow Collection" in 1852.
