Alexander Trifonovich Tvardovsky (1910-1971) was a Russian writer, poet, and prose writer, a laureate of state awards, and a recipient of many orders and honors. The poet's life was filled with many trials: periods of revolutions, the Great Patriotic War, changes in political regimes, the peak of censorship, and repression. Alexander Tvardovsky voluntarily went to the front and actively participated in the country's restoration in the post-war years. Despite the changes happening around him, his civic position remained unwavering. The poet always loved his Motherland and dreamed of its prosperity, which was reflected in his work. The book includes poems from different years, post-war stories and essays, as well as an autobiography and excerpts from the collection of memories "Homeland and Foreign Land."
