The book “On the mental in us of the battle” includes the instructions of the great elder, the Monk Neil Sorsky (1433-1508), about how to recognize temptations and fight his passions. The Rev. was drinking his spirit with the experience of the great fathers of deserted ones, who, through internal cleansing and unceasing prayer committed by the mind in the heart, reached luminous insights. The sayings of the great fathers are filled with this book.
