'On Pseudohallucinations' is the main work of the short creative life of the founder of Russian psychiatry, V. K. Kandinsky. As one of the classic works of psychiatric thought, this book not only tells about its main subject - the phenomenon of pseudohallucinations, but also contains clinical descriptions of various psychopathological conditions, many of which were made by the author based on observations of his own illness. These descriptions have not lost their relevance to this day. Unfortunately, the book suffered the same difficult fate as its author. In 1885, the work was awarded the Philippov Doctor's Prize by the St. Petersburg Society of Psychiatrists and was supposed to be published with the society's funds, which, due to their absence, was never done. Nevertheless, it was published in German in Berlin. Only after Kandinsky's death, thanks to his wife's efforts, the monograph was published in his homeland. Sixty years later, in 1952, the second edition of the book was released, but its text was altered by a Soviet editor who removed the parts where the author expressed allegiance to the views of Western philosophers and psychiatrists. It took another 50 years for the work to be published in its original form, which happened in 2001. The current edition is published in accordance with the 1890 book.
