The title of the collection corresponds to three main parts: the first publishes the works of M.L. Gasparova, including his letters, in the second he becomes the main character - first in memoirs and essays, and then in articles and thoughts of the academic plan, in the third - articles about the key figures of Russian poetry of the 20th century, which became the main subject of attention of the scientist in The last decades of his life. In the book, articles by M.L. Gasparova about the poems of Mandelstam from the collection "Stone", written for the "Mandelstam Encyclopedia", his letters to A.K. Zholkovsky, as well as being exceptional interest in correspondence with M.Yu. Lotman, capturing decades of the heyday of Russian science about the verse in the 1970-1980s, the intellectual problems of the last third of the 20th century are in the lively commentary of the correspondent. Memoirs and essays contain unique evidence of the life and work of the scientist. Most of the works are written specifically for this publication
