The reader is offered a book that includes four short works by the great German astronomer and mathematician Johannes Kepler: 'On the Six-Cornered Snowflake', 'Conversation with the Starry Messenger', 'Dream', and an excerpt from the horoscope 'About Oneself'. The first one impresses with unrestrained imagination, polished form, and depth of ideas, allowing the author to anticipate correct answers to many questions of the geometry of natural objects. The second work is a response to the writings of another great scientist, Galileo Galilei, containing an exposition of Kepler's views on various issues of geometric optics. The third work became the first in the history of astronomy to describe phenomena as seen by an observer on the Moon. The fourth work is a unique self-portrait, written by a hand that mercilessly lashes out at the vices of the original, both real and imaginary.
All the presented works of Kepler are recognized examples of scientific and artistic prose. They are of great interest to philosophers, historians, and science methodologists (primarily physicists, mathematicians, and astronomers), as well as to a wide range of readers.
