Why does the author intend to tell about life and its continuation only according to the laws and traditions of Judaism? Isn't the same path for every mortal on earth, regardless of nationality, religion, place, and time of birth?
The question is legitimate, it needs an answer.
A person does not live in emptiness.
From the first to the last hour, he remains - to a greater or lesser extent - under the influence of the customs, spiritual values, and norms of behavior of past generations, their fears and habits, dreams and unresolved doubts, which vary among every nation on earth.
Traditions are formed over centuries in a struggle with previous notions, and therefore parting with a person triggers various types of funeral rites, sometimes causing surprise, evoking tears, sorrowful thoughts of relatives and friends, as if stumbling in a race, feeling the unknown.
Do they not hope to meet their dear and beloved in the afterlife, which cannot be avoided?..
