In Bern, the body of a woman with a mysterious symbol carved on her chest was discovered. However, she is not the killer's only victim. Dutch profiler Marten S. Sneyder and BKA commissioner Sabina Nemez embark on a hunt for the criminal, but it seems that the killer is always one step ahead. Meanwhile, young psychology specialist Hanna arrives at "Steinfels," a prison for criminals with mental disorders. She is tasked with conducting group therapy sessions. However, she is interested in one particular inmate - Pit van Loon. Sneyder once put him behind bars. Both experienced investigators and the novice psychologist find themselves drawn into a diabolical game with no winner.
