Venedikt Erofeev has entered the history of literature as the author of the cult underground poem "Moscow to the End of the Line," which has been translated into more than thirty languages. At first glance, Erofeev's creative legacy is not very large: "Notes of a Psychopath," "Walpurgis Night," essays on Rozanov, and a few other works of short prose. However, a significant part of the writer's legacy consists of diaries that he kept from the late 1950s: more than 30 notebooks and notepads have been preserved, where biographical entries are interspersed with notes on various occasions, quotes from books, songs, and conversations, anecdotes, puns, his and others' aphorisms, etc., essentially becoming a creative laboratory. For Erofeev's fans, this is truly invaluable material. This edition presents fragments from diaries of different years, including previously unpublished entries from the 1980s.
