A Crow and a fox

Ivan Andreevich Krylov, perhaps the most published Russian writer. His books were in the 19th century, and now they are an important part of the school curriculum. The secret of the author’s success is simple - the characters speak a simple, living language, and the problems that are revealed in fables are inherent in our time: good and evil, friendship and treachery, though lies, feat and cowardice. Even young children are familiar with many lines of fables that have become sayings and winged expressions.
The artist Evgeny Rachev managed to convey all the charm of a cheerful, somewhat crafty, very Russian humor of Krylov’s fables and at the same time preserve the meaning for which they were written.
