Matilda Marchesi (1821–1913) was a German opera singer (mezzo-soprano) and an outstanding vocal teacher (a student of Manuel García the Younger). Among her students were renowned singers such as Nellie Melba, Emma Calvé, Evgenia Mravina, Nadezhda Zabela-Vrubel, and others. This collection contains vocalises written by Marchesi for soprano or mezzo-soprano voices. It is intended for singers, vocal students, and vocal teachers.
