The book is the first part of the classic military-historical work by N.E. Kakurin and V.A. Melikov "War with the White Poles. 1920". Based on archival materials, it, thanks to its early publication date (1925), avoided the traditional political-ideological processing inherent in publications on a similar topic that came out later. The information contained in the work is largely unique, allowing it to maintain its scientific significance to this day. The author's text is complemented by numerous documentary appendices.
